Tunaweza Empowerment Organization, in partnership with Amref Health Africa and Plan International, is implementing the Future4Binti Programme in Migori County. The programme is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and is aligned with her 2026–2030 Focus Framework. It will be implemented over a five-year period across Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
The Future4Binti Programme aims to accelerate efforts to eliminate harmful practices and advance gender equality, with a strong focus on protecting girls and young women from Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and Child, Early, and Forced Marriage and Unions (CEFMU).
In Kenya, the programme is being implemented in ten counties: Migori, Narok, Samburu, Marsabit, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Tana River, West Pokot, and Kajiado. The interventions are designed to address the root causes of harmful practices while strengthening community systems, institutional capacity, and policy engagement.
By working closely with communities and stakeholders, the programme also seeks to reduce related risks such as unintended pregnancies and maternal health complications. It promotes sustainable change through community-led action, strengthened protection systems, and advocacy for girls’ and young women’s rights.
Tunaweza Empowerment Organization remains committed to contributing to a safer and more equitable environment where girls and young women can thrive, access opportunities and fully realize their potential.
