Tunaweza Empowerment Organization is seeking energetic and self-motivated team players to join us as Shamiri Fellows based at the Tunaweza in Migori County.

Shamiri Fellows are recent high-school graduates trained to deliver the 4-week Shamiri intervention without prior formal health training as part of the Shamiri Program. Fellows receive ten hours of training and weekly supervision from Shamiri Clinical Supervisors. They lead group-based intervention sessions with high school students within the schools we will be implementing with in Migori County. Prior research has shown that Thrive! Fellows are effective—thorough, skill-full, clear, and adherent to protocol—at delivering the Shamiri intervention. We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated team player to join our first class of Thrive! Fellows.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Â Delivering intervention activities by facilitating group sessions.
- Â Observing punctuality on all matters that concern Shamiri.
- Attending supervision meetings as communicated.
- Â Recording group sessions attendance.
- Â Reporting to the supervisors any information necessary promptly.
- Â Acting, with supervision, to help ensure participant confidentiality, health, and safety.
Requirements
- Â A minimum of KCSE Grade C.
- Â Aged between 18-22 years.
-  Demonstrate the ability to recognize and reflect on one’s own values, attitudes, beliefs, biases, emotions, and past experiences. Use mistakes as opportunities for growth.
- Â Demonstrate interest in helping others and ensuring their confidentiality, fair treatment, safety, and well-being.
- Â Demonstrate commitment to the broad scope of values, ethics, and goals at the height of the Shamiri mission.
- Â Possess time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Â Possess strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Application Information

- The contract will run for three months.
- All Shamiri Fellows will be paid KES 1,500 per group session they deliver (KES 1,000 per session and KES 500 for transport facilitation). The expectation is that Fellows will deliver between 10 to 20 sessions during their contract.
