Honorable Esther Onana is a nominated member of the county assembly of migori representing persons with disabilities in migori county and also serving as the deputy majority leader at the county assembly. She is a mother and a mentor to women and girls with disabilities who lives beyond her disability. Esther is an activist who champions for disability inclusion in the mainstream of both the national and county governments. As a legislature and a representative of the persons with disabilities in migori county assembly, she did a Persons with Disability (PWD) Bill until at the public participation stage then because of expenses gave it to the department within migori county for completion and she is eagerly waiting for it to be passed as an act of the county government. She is a professional administrator, medical and surgery practitioner from Maseno University who has worked at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital for over 5years serving clients from Nyanza, western and rift valley on orthopedic, plastic and neurological surgeries especially on shunting and closure of spina bifida and other congenital birth malformations before joining public service as a Member of County Assembly in Migori county. Previously she was seconded and served as the secretary at Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK)Kisumu branch.
